The latest track from Luna Morgenstern is the fantastic ‘IDONTOU’. Her brand of alternative pop is big and bouncy, with an energetic core and an emotional edge to her lyrics which discuss love, loss and the challenges faced by young women in the modern world. Timbra-wise, you could picture the track and its thick, bassy synths filling club floors around the world, but you can also feel the likes of Caroline Polachek and Charli XCX influencing the work with their left-field sound. With ‘IDONTOU’, Morgenstern recounts a dark period of sexual assaults within the Dutch music industry: “I wanted to write an anthem to all people who have experienced any form of sexual assault in their life. It shouldn’t be a sad song, but one that could be played at a party and that would make people want to dance, in order to reclaim ownership over their bodies.” Her new project will be dropping later in 2023. -Dan Peeke
